Grand Prix of Nations Gothenburg 2019 & 4th European Choir Games, 3.– 10. 8. 2019
Austria, Germany and Latvia were already hosts for one of the most prestigious European choir competitions, the European Choir Games. In 2019 the 4th edition of the event will once again take place and explore a new destination: Sweden – nation of choristers!
With approximately 600 000 singers, choir singing is one of Sweden’s most popular movements and the country is thus a perfect location for this international singing event.
The host city for the event has been well chosen: Gothenburg, the country’s second largest city, is a genuine music city where music is close to people’s hearts. It has a lively alternative music culture and big arena stages. Culture and the arts take center stage in Gothenburg.
Singers from all over the world are invited to join, compete and celebrate a grand festival of choral music in Sweden at the Grand Prix of Nations Gothenburg 2019 & 4th European Choir Games.

54th International Choral Music Festival, 8.– 14. 7. 2019, Barcelona, Spain (International Simging Week)
Welcome to our Singing Week in Barcelona ! This one-week long Festival takes place in Barcelona
Enrolment fees include accommodation, breakfast and lunch, picnic for dinner on performance days, and the music scores for the workshops.
Free time in the mornings. This allows you to enjoy the wide range of activities Barcelona has to offer: you can enjoy the sunshine on more than 3 km of beach line, the never-ending life on the glamorous Ramblas, or you may visit the Gothic city centre and all kinds of buildings, monuments or museums.
Workshops take place in the afternoon. Around 300 participants, Catalan and international, are expected to take part in the event.
The participating choirs will be expected to offer 2 performances: one concert in the gothic church of Santa Maria del Pi, and one concert in different venues in the vicinity of Barcelona; also included a visit and short concert in Sagrada Familia.
The Singing week Closure Concert takes place at the well-known modernist style Hall, “Palau de la Música Catalana”. In addition, a reception in the City Council will be organized.

PARTICIPATING CONDITIONS:
Enrolment fee complete week: 400 € inclusive of Accommodation in different kind of rooms, breakfast, lunch, and picnic for dinner on performance days, participation in one workshop and music scores, 2 concerts, 1 short concert in Sagrada Familia.
All singers (complete week only) are requested to state 2 workshop preferences, so that we can achieve the best possible grouping for the workshops. We will, of course, try to meet your first preference if that is possible.
Enrolment fee half week (3 days): 200 € inclusive of: Accommodation in different kind of rooms, breakfast, lunch, and picnic for dinner on performance day, 1 concert.
By signing the registration form, participants accept that the Federació Catalana d’Entitats Corals holds all the rights of the International Choral Music Festival in Barcelona.

MUSICA ORBIS PRAGUE CHOIR FESTIVAL offers both competitive events and unfettered performance opportunities. With 25 years of experience in providing concert tours, we are happy to invite choirs from all over the world to sing in the Church of SS. Simon and Jude – one of Prague’s most beautiful venues – and to perform in front of our appreciative local audiences.
As part of the festival package, we also offer the unique option for all participating choirs to perform a full-length concert outside of the festival programme in Prague or the surrounding area.
Choir workshops will be held as part of the festival and led by choir professionals, and all conductors will have the opportunity to meet and exchange their contacts and experiences.
Choirs with sacred repertoire can participate in the Sunday mass in St. Vitus’s Cathedral.

The 23rd Choralies will once again be a grand celebration of choral singing, a gathering of thousands of passionate singers and renowned choral conductors from around the world. Prestigious ensembles will perform during the festival, displaying exciting new styles and repertoires. Choralies is an occasion for a world that is alive and singing to meet up. More then ever, the festival will celebrate youth.. The opening concert will set the tone along with daily animations and innovative ateliers. In line with this ambition, the 2019 Choralies will also look out towards Europe, and the rich facets of the world we share, trough the variety of international ateliers, including the 2019 EuroChoir session. Artists from the five continents will act as ambassadors of vocal excellence and grace with delightful concerts, bringing the audience together in common emotion.
The town of Vaison-la-Romaine remains a close partner and welcomes the festival in its various venues. Place Montfort will develop into a dynamic meeting point all kinds of music and audiences. The concil´s teams are working closely with the festival staff of volunteers in order to prepare, yet again, a unique and enchanting environment ready to accomodate 5000 singers for ten days in what is France´s largest choral event.

7th International JSFest 2019 Choral Competition, 15.- 18. 11. 2019, Turku, Finsko
„Hudba začíná tam, kde končí možnosti řeči.“
Pořadatelem této hudební soutěže, která má svou sborovou, pěveckou, instrumentální a skladatelskou část, je Mezinárodní kulturní asociace Turku ve spolupráci s Finskou společností SEM Consulting a Svazem ruských skladatelů. Soutěž nese ve zkratce JS jméno slavného finského skladatele Jeana Sibelia.
Sborová část JSFest je dvoukolová a probíhá ve dvou základních věkových skupinách – Dospělé sbory a Mládežnické a dětské sbory do 24 let, z nichž každá nabízí soutěžení v 5 soutěžních kategoriích.

Dospělé sbory – A – s povinnou skladbou (A1 – Smíšené sbory, A2 – Mužské sbory, A3 – Ženské sbory) – 4 skladby do 15´ (1 skladba J. Sibelia, 3 volný výběr, nejvýše 1 skladba s dopr.); B – bez povinné skladby (B1, 2, 3) – 4 skladby do 15´, 3 skladby volný výběr, 1 úprava lid. písně, max. 2 skladby s doprovodem; C – Musica Sacra (C1, 2, 3) – 3 skladby do 12´, 1 skladba z 18.- 19. stol., 2 volný výběr, vše a cap.; D – Folklor (D1, 2, 3) – 3 skladby do 12´, 1 skladba skladatele vlastní země, 2 volný výběr, max. 2 skladby s doprovodem; E – Vokální ansámbly (E1 – stejnorodé do 12 zpěváků, E2 – smíšené do 16 zpěváků) – 3 skladby do 12´, volný výběr (max. 2 s doprovodem, úpravy lidových písní jsou povoleny).

Ceny: V každé kategorii se vyhlašuje 1., 2. a 3. cena. Celkový vítěz v kategorii dospělých sborů dostává finanční prémii 1000 Euro, v kategorii mládežnických a dětských sborů 800 Euro. Nejlepší dirigenti v obou skupinách obdrží diplom a finanční prémii 300 Euro.

The meeting music art lab(oratory) with Katalin Kiss!

We haven’t been idle in autumn and have created something new. We proudly present the meeting music art lab, a brand-new artistic activity for all choir conductors.
WHAT?
The meeting music artistic laboratory under the direction of the international experienced choir expert and famous clinician and workshop leader Katalin Kiss is addressed to all, who want to learn something new for their next choir performances or competition participation.
WHERE/WHEN?
Come to the International Choir Competition & Festival in Budapest next year (April 14 to 18, 2019).
HOW?
Join the performances of the participating choirs in different categories and analyse and discuss them afterwards under the guidance of Katalin Kiss.
The meeting music art lab gives you the chance to be in the middle of the competition instead only a guest and you get the opportunity to proof and enhance your skills through the analysis of the competition performances of the choirs: through the positive aspects of the performances
- through the artistic analysis with the InChoral Evaluation System
- through a general and optical analysis of the performances
- What could have done in another way, what better?
- Did the choirs use the best formation for their performance on stage?
- Did they choose the right programme fitting for the choir and their level of singing?
- Did the perform their programme in the right way?
- and so on and so forth…
- An on top you will get some tips from the rich experience of Katalin Kiss and we are sure, she will share some of her secrets with you.

Festa Musicale – Sborové soutěže a festivaly 2018 – 2019
Festa Musicale je tradiční pořadatel sborových festivalů a dalších kulturních projektů.
Spolek Festa Musicale byl založen v roce 1998 sbormistrem Jiřím Klimešem (1947 – 2018). Navazuje na dlouhou tradici sborových festivalů v Olomouci, která trvá již od roku 1972, kdy proběhl první Olomoucký festival dětských pěveckých sborů, založený sbormistrem Karlem Klimešem. Za mnoho let olomoucký festival, který v průběhu historie změnil název na „Svátky Písní”, navštívilo přes 3500 pěveckých sborů.
Po roce 1998 se rodina festivalů Festa Musicale rozšířila o mnoho projektů v tuzemsku i zahraničí. Jejím současným reprezentantem je syn Jiřího Klimeše MgA. Marek Klimeš.

International Choral Festival Cracovia Cantans (Krakow, Poland)
Tokyo International Choir Competition (Tokyo, Japan)
Taipei International Choral Competition (Taipei, Taiwan)
Rimini International Choral Competition (Rimini, Italy)
have decided to found, together, the World Choral Championship (WCC)
to promote the best choirs in the world.
V roce 2017 se čtyři významné mezinárodní soutěžní sborové festivaly dohodly, že budou konat společné mistrovství svých absolutních vítězů. V letošním roce se koná toto mistrovství v Tokiu 25. 7. 2019. Zúčastní se ho Kärtner Landesjugendchor (Rakousko, vítěz posledního ročníku soutěže z Krakova), Diocesan Society (Hong Kong, vítěz z Tokia), Taipei Philharmonic Youth Choir (Taiwan, vítěz z Taipei) a Akademisk kor Arhus (Dánsko, vítěz z Rimini).
V porotě zasednou významní dirigenti a skladatelé – Eriks Ešenvalds (Lotyšsko), Christian Grases (USA), Levente Gyöngyösi (Maďarsko), Paso Hyökki (Finsko), Jennifer Tham (Singapur), Makkio Kinoshita (Japonsko a Funiaki Kuriyama (Japonsko).
Každý sbor vystoupí s 25–30 min. programem, který musí obsahovat nejméně 1 skladbu skladatele z 19. století, nebo starší, nejméně 1 skladbu z 20.- 21. století a 1 skladbu na latinský text. Pouze 1 skladba může být s instrumentálním doprovodem. World Choral Champion získá finanční prémii ve výši 5000 Euro.
Termíny letošních festivalů: ICC Krakovia Cantans – 6.– 9. 6. 2019; Tokyo ICC – 26.– 28. 7. 2019; Rimini ICC – 19.– 22. 9. 2019.
Termíny následujících WCC: 26. 7. 2019 – Tokio; 16. 9. 2020 – Rimini; 12.– 13. 6. 2021 – Krakov; 1.– 2. 8. 2022 – Taipei.

15. International Choir Festival „MUNDUS CANTAT SOPOT 2019“, 22.– 26.5. 2019, Sopoty, Polsko
Soutěžní ktegorie: A – Duchovní hudba a cappella: A1 – Sbory seniorů (2/3 nad 50 let), A2 – Dospělé sbory (2/3 nad 25 let), A3 – Akademické sbory (2/3 25 let nebo mladší), A4 – Dětské a mládežnické sbory do 19 let; B – Světská hudba a folklor (děleno podobně na A1–4); C – Spirituál, gospel, jazz; Grand Prix – vítězové kategorií ve zlatém pásmu (2 skladby, které nebyly v soutěži dosud provedeny).
Bodování: 0 – 100 bodů; 60 – 74,9 bodů Bronzový diplom, 75 – 89,9 bodů Stříbrný diplom, 90 – 100 bodů Zlatý diplom. Kategorie A uděluje 1., 2. a 3. cenu, kategorie B 1. a 2. cenu, kategorie C 1. cenu. 1. cena je spojena s finanční prémií 2000 PLN, další ceny jsou buď finanční, nebo věcné.

3. Mezinárodní soutěž pěveckých sborů „Aurora Cantat“, 15.– 19. 5. 2019, Karlovac, Chorvatsko
Soutěž je otevřena všem druhům mládežnických (nad 15 let) a dospělých (mužských, ženských a smíšených) sborů o minimálním počtu 4 zpěváků. Délka soutěžního programu 8 – 10 min. (3 – 4 skladby), různého charakteru, stylu, v originálním jazyce, alespoň v tříhlasém provedení. Každý sbor se může zúčastnit soutěže v 1 – 2 kategoriích.
Soutěžní kategorie: A ) Klasická hudba (duchovní i světská), a cap., 1 skladba může být s klavírním doprovodem; B) Folklorní hudba (duchovní i světská), možný doprovod akustických nástrojů, 1 skladba a cap.; C) Populární hudba, s doprovodem akustických nástrojů nebo a cap.; D) Smíšená hudba (hudba z 2 – 3 kategorií (A – C).

100 YEARS of LATIN CHORAL MUSIC

The Academy is a biannual professional masterclass opened to participants from all over Europe. We wait for you in Italy!
The Academy is organised by Feniarco in partnership with the European Choral Association - Europa Cantat.
This masterclass is addressed to experienced choir conductors. It is possible to register as active participant or as auditor. The participants will work with a HIGH LEVEL PILOT-CHOIR during the whole Academy. At the end of the week there will be a concert conducted by the best participants of the masterclass.
100 YEARS OF LATIN AMERICAN CHORAL MUSIC is the theme chosen for the 10th edition of the European Academy for choir conductors. The chosen compositions, which cover the time frame of the last 100 years, will allow you to go into the timbric details and the sound peculiarities of the choral pieces coming from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Venezuela. You can face a fascinating repertoire that is rarely included in the concert programmes of the old continent. A real exploration journey in the Latin American musical culture: from sacred motets to madrigals, from chamber songs to scores for spatialized choir of the emerging comporsers of the 21st century. The music programme includes compositions by Balzanelli, Boero, Carrillo, Contreras, Escobar, Galindo, Ginastera, A. Grau, E. Grau, Latini, Piazzolla.
VIRGINIA BONO, (Argentina) is a choir conductor and music pedagogue graduated in Santa Fe (Argentina) and in Frankfurt. She founded and currently conducts the Estudio Coral Meridies. She also conducts the Youth Choir Asom Arte of the Ministry of Education, the Coro Juvenil Femenino and the Coro Infantil Jilgueritos at the Instituto Coral in the city of Santa Fe. She has participated in national and international competitions receiving several prizes and awards as conductor and alsowith the choirs she has conducted. She is often asked to participate as jury member in choral competitions (in 2018 at the World Choir Games in South Africa) and as lecturer on choral music in international festivals (in 2019 at the 23rd edition of Choralies in Vaison-la-Romaine, France, and at the International Singing Week Flanders in Ghent, Belgium). Žilina Voce Magna, International Competition of Choral Art 2019 in Slovakia, 11.– 12. 10. 2019
Dear friends of choral singing!
After several years of experience with the organization of the Žilina Voce Magna International Festival and Competition of Choral Art in Slovakia, and especially the positive feedback from the guest choirs and their conductors, we decided to give the opportunity to participate to a larger number of choirs for the third time, again in the competition.
The third year of the international competition in Slovakia is for those who want to compete in the representative premises of the concert hall, they want to charm an international expert jury and win some of the financial prizes and for those who want to hear high quality choirs at the evening concerts.
Together with the whole organizing team we are looking forward to meeting you in Žilina on this exceptional choral singing event.
